hi herb
a quick question,, if karen and i book and at some point i can not come because of workers how hard is it to switch from me to karens mom... ???

It's easy to switch. After a certain date, you can still switch, but there is a service fee from the cruise line to change the name.  I don't know exactly what that date is.  But you can certainly change one name anytime.
